  • Beta Testers needed for imminent SN rollout Oct 14th, 2007
    • See this here post for details. The sooner people sign up, the sooner SN becomes live. Sorry for all the delays. Besides tearing my house apart for mold abatement, selling my arcade, and having a baby I really have no excuse.

  • When is SuperNova coming? Dec 29th, 2006
    • Dear friends,

SuperNova is past due, eh? Thanks to technical difficulties with every facet of my life, DDRecall has taken a back seat. A far back seat, like in one of those long minivans. Hell, it's probably in the trunk by now. But it's not forgotten.

First off, rest assured that DDRecall will never disappear, no matter how back-seated it gets. Your scores will always be safe.

Second, since WoW ate Radio, I have had to find a replacement coder. I've got a prospect who will be working with me and we may see changes soon. I do apologize for people who have been on pins and needles waiting for SuperNova, but after I sold my wonderful arcade Power Up, most anything DDR-related has, regrettably, moved way down the ol' priority ladder.

Meanwhile, feel free to make lots of new "Where is SuperNova?" threads. I will keep you updated.

  • Announcing: The Official Quad-stArchive Jul 24th, 2006
    • Dear ITG Aficionados:

It's about time that we start seeing some of the harder songs in ITG get Quad Stars, so to boost the efforts of players everwhere, DDRecall is launching the Official Quad-stArchive. The idea is simple: To collect pictures of Quad Stars from every song at every difficulty (except Novice). Yes, there will be gaps for a while, but there was a time when MaxX was considered undefeatable, so why not Vertex^2?

Since the dancing community as a whole is, above all, a community, I'm looking for something special in the pictures. Namely, you. Each picture submitted must have clearly displayed the song image, difficulty, all the stars and, most importantly, the player. For those of you who just gave a mild groan, please understand that the purpose of this project is not only to make an archive, but an archive worth looking at that will connect the community together. Browsing through screenshots of USB screen caps would be as interesting as browsing through something really, really, really dull. Like a 1920's ladies' underwear catalogue.

So get to it. Get the quad-stars, get the pics, and send 'em to me. DDRecall will host all the images so all you have to do is PM me the link to where the pic is taken. If it's not you in the pic, please include a link to the DDRecall profile of the player who got the score and, if possible, the name and location of the arcade where it was attained. Note that all pics must be from an arcade machine, not the home version.

      Go!

  • Speedy speed! Apr 18th, 2006
    • The site has been a bit slow lately. A new server is coming tomorrow that will hopefully speed things up. This is a short news post.

  • Job Opening: Coder Feb 20th, 2006
    • DD:Recall is looking for another coder to add to its team. If you know PHP too well to be healthy, like to make pretty buttons that do things, and don't mind working with an SVN repository, then send a cover letter, with your resume attached, to snooj@psouth.net. Please include the phrase "ddrec coder" somewhere in the subject line.

  • ITG2 Unlocks Feb 1st, 2006
    • We are working as fast as possible to get all ITG2 songs listed, including unlock songs. This will start with single charts and end with double charts, going up as we collect the necessary data.

  • GrooveTrack Users/Guinea Pigs Jan 7th, 2006
    • If you entered in percentages for scores, you might want to go and make sure they're all correct. The reason this should be of any concern should be resolved now. Specifically, make sure your fifties aren't fives and fives aren't fifties. This goes for any other single digit numbers and their corresponding products of 10 (like 4 and 40). I can't automate a fix for this so it's all on you, faithful use-alpha tester.

  • Whoops. Jan 5th, 2006
    • Thank you, PairNIC, for not notifying me that the ddrecall.com domain name was about to expire. For everyone who caught the site when it was briefly down, sorry to scare you.

In related news, has it really been a year since we started working on this project? It was February 3rd when word first leaked out about DDRecall and 175 people registered on that first day. By the end of February we had hundreds of users and here we are, a full year later, thousands of users, DDR and ITG support, and the sky's the limit. Thanks to everyone for their support over the last year, and to everyone who finds themselves with some pocket change leftover from the holidays, feel free to Upgrade your account, get some cool features, and motivate the future of DDRecall!
